Live Music in Berkeley

I forgot to mention the October Bob Dylan concert at the Greek Theatre on my previous post.  The cold night turned pleasant and brought out an incredible diversity of people to see the legendary icon. 
 
If you’ve ever been to a Dylan concert you know it’s always a challenge to recognize your favorite songs since they’re usually quite different from the recorded version.  I’m pleased to say that I did recognize the beautiful piano melody opening one of my favorites, Workingman’s Blues #2, from his Modern Times CD.
 
So much music and so little time!  There is a great variety of downtown Berkeley live-music venues to go to including Freight & Salvage, Beckett’s of Berkeley, and The Jazzschool.  With any luck, Anna’s Jazz Island will find a new home in downtown soon!
