Aurelia and Aurora

Wow! On my first post I mentioned Berkeley Rep’s upcoming Aurelia’s Oratorio that would run through January 24th and said it sounded like it would be a magical and mystical production. Well, I’ve seen it and, as an old acquaintance used to say–it was all that and a bag of chips too! With two incredibly talented performance artists and a simple draped set—that almost breathed with life—they created a surrealistic world that challenged your sense of reality. This short set piece was inventive, clever and refreshing.
Next up for Aurora Theatre Company is the world premiere of The First Grade. The play originated as one of Aurora’s Global Age Project (GAP) winners from last season. Aurora’s GAP runs on Mondays in February for free, on a first come, first served basis. Go to their website for more information.
